Your Role

As an Investment Analyst at Carbyne, you will join our investment team from day one and work at the centre of our transaction activity. You will support the execution of our investments end to end, from initial screening through due diligence to closing, and build the analytical foundation on which our investment decisions are made.

In this role, you will:

• Support the execution of live transactions end to end, from initial target analysis and screening through due diligence to signing and closing.

• Build and maintain financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses and LBO structures, working closely with senior members of the team.

• Support commercial and financial due diligence workstreams and coordinate with external advisors on information requests, findings and follow-ups.

• Conduct market and competitor research to identify attractive sub-sectors and screen potential targets.

• Prepare investment committee materials and other transaction documentation.

• Support portfolio company monitoring, reporting and value creation initiatives alongside management teams.

· Support our add-on acquisition activity, from target identification to execution.

· Start building a network of industry experts, advisors and intermediaries.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a high-achieving, driven individual at the start of their career who is eager to learn and grow with us. The ideal candidate will possess:

• An excellent academic track record in business, economics, finance, or a related field.

• Up to two years of professional experience, or relevant internships, ideally in investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction services and/or private equity.

• Strong quantitative skills and a solid command of financial modeling in Excel.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.

• Fluency in English; German or other European languages are a plus.

• A reliable, results-driven team player who takes ownership of their work and upholds the highest professional standards.

Your Role

As a Private Equity Intern at Carbyne, you will work closely with our investment team and gain hands-on exposure to the full private equity investment lifecycle. From day one, you will support live transactions, portfolio work, and thematic research, while developing a strong understanding of how investment decisions are made in practice.

In this role, you will:

• Lead a defined, long-term project throughout the internship; taking ownership of the workstream, coordinating inputs, and driving progress under the guidance of the investment team

• Support the evaluation of potential investments across all stages of the investment process, from initial screening to execution

• Assist in building and reviewing financial models, business cases, and valuation analyses

• Prepare market and competitive analyses, including industry research and company benchmarking

• Support commercial and financial due diligence workstreams

• Contribute to portfolio company development with research and business analyses

• Work closely with investment team members in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual with a strong interest in private equity and investing.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong academic background, preferably in business, economics, finance, or a related field, and be in the penultimate year of study or have recently completed a degree

• First practical experience through internships or working student roles, ideally in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction services, or corporate finance

• Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial statements

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; prior exposure to financial modeling is preferred

• Strong attention to detail and a structured, proactive working style

• Fluency in English and German; other European languages are a plus

• A high level of motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn
